Despite the police's efforts to solve the cases, the killer seems to be everywhere and nowhere at once.
In desperation, a private detective named Cliff Carter takes on the case and decides to uncover the truth on his own. As he unravels the threads of the frightening events, he becomes deeply entangled in a dark fictional universe set in the 19th century.
